Bitcoin Outperforms Gold and Stocks Post Global Shocks

A recent study shows Bitcoin's superior performance over gold and stocks following economic or geopolitical shocks, highlighting its resilience.

A study conducted by Mercado Bitcoin has revealed that Bitcoin tends to outperform traditional assets such as gold and the S&P 500 in the aftermath of global economic or geopolitical shocks. The analysis focused on 60-day windows following such events, consistently showing stronger returns for Bitcoin compared to gold and stocks.

As of April 4, 2026, Bitcoin is trading at $67,332.67, maintaining a bullish trend with no change in price over the last 24 hours. In contrast, gold is priced at $4,702.70, reflecting a slight increase of 0.10%. This performance aligns with the findings of the study, suggesting that Bitcoin may serve as a more resilient investment during turbulent times.

The market for gold and other commodities remains active, with crude oil (WTI) priced at $112.06, showing a bullish trend, while silver is at $73.170, indicating a neutral trend. Investors are increasingly looking at cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as a hedge against traditional market fluctuations.
