The gold markets in Kurdistan are experiencing a significant downturn following the Eid celebrations. This slump is attributed to a combination of local demand shifts and global economic uncertainties that are reshaping consumer behavior.
As reported by Kurdistan24, the post-Eid period typically sees a surge in gold purchases, as many individuals buy gold jewelry as gifts. However, this year, the demand has not met expectations, leading to a noticeable decline in sales.
Market analysts suggest that the ongoing global economic instability is causing consumers to be more cautious with their spending. The price of gold, currently at approximately $4,532.40 per ounce, reflects a neutral trend with a slight increase of 0.03% recently. This price movement, however, has not translated into increased sales in the local markets.
With the uncertainty surrounding global markets, including fluctuating currencies and economic policies, local jewelers are feeling the impact. Many are hoping for a rebound in demand as the market stabilizes, but for now, the post-Eid slump continues to challenge the industry.
